Offered primarily to individuals who believe they have a good idea but who haven’t the technical expertise to translate their idea into reality, this service is designed to provide the inventor with the documentation and prototype required to demonstrate proof-of-concept.

We do not offer an opinion as to the marketability of the device or, early on, an opinion as to whether the device will function.

After execution of a non-disclosure agreement and an initial contract to study the problem, we will execute a paper design and submit it to our client along with our opinion as to the likelihood of the idea to be realizable in practice.

If the idea appears to be realizable and our client wishes to go further, we will prepare a quotation outlining the costs to prepare a prototype, and if that quotation subsequently leads to a contract, we will build, test, and deliver the working prototype and supporting documentation to our client.

The supporting documentation will include an electrical schematic diagram and bill of materials for the device which will allow the device to be reproduced without further recourse to Austin Instruments.
